Ugandan musician Bebe Cool has accused former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi of orchestrating an online scam, allegations the Rwandan model and entrepreneur has strongly denied.

In a series of posts on X on Tuesday, Bebe Cool, whose real name is Moses Ssali, claimed he had been deceived by Mutesi, alleging that she used discussions about Rwanda and Arsenal Football Club to gain his trust.

“This woman Mutesi Jolly stays in the UK and she always watches Arsenal games. She conned me last year in the name of Rwanda, Arsenal football club and now she's on another big mission. Full story loading......,” Bebe Cool posted.

The 48-year-old singer escalated the matter by sharing a screenshot of a contact number he claimed belonged to Mutesi, saying he was speaking out to protect others from falling victim.

“Mutesi Jolly isn't this your number? I have to do this for the good of the republic of Rwanda and a president who has done a lot to sell his country's image,” he wrote.

“I have way much more than you think, about you and your dark-colored girlfriend playing this game for a long time.”

Bebe Cool further alleged that several other people had been targeted and that one victim had physically met the individuals involved.

“To make matters worse, I know more people you did this to. But the good thing is you and your friend physically met one of the victims and that's how I confirmed it's you,” he added.

He also claimed the suspected operation involved a person in Uganda who allegedly received money on behalf of those behind the scheme.

“You have a person in Uganda who has a number and an account you use to receive money,” he alleged.

The musician said he had nothing to hide and that his wife was aware of the conversations because they revolved around his son's football career.

“You got the confidence because you thought since I'm married I won't come out but unfortunately I was chatting with you in the knowledge of my wife since the topic was my son's football career,” he wrote.

He also indicated that he intended to release screenshots of the alleged conversations.

“Tomorrow I will start with the screenshots and let's see how this situation evolves,” he said.

However, Mutesi, 29, has repeatedly denied any involvement in online fraud, maintaining that criminals have been impersonating her online.

In October 2024, she publicly warned followers about fake accounts allegedly using her identity to solicit money from unsuspecting members of the public.

“Hello my people. I would like to inform you that this is an imposter account with someone asking money from people across the region. Kindly treat it with the contempt it deserves. To the many people that have fallen victim, I am sorry that you went through that, but please be cautious on who you communicate to online,” she posted at the time.

Following Bebe Cool’s latest accusations on Wednesday, Mutesi issued another warning, distancing herself from the alleged activities.

“TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN! It has come to my attention that someone has created a fake account and is impersonating me in the names of AKANSASIRA JOLLY. I regret that some of my people have become victims. Please be cautious and do not engage with messages from any other unverified accounts,” she wrote.

Mutesi is a prominent Rwandan model, entrepreneur and public figure who was crowned Miss Rwanda in 2016. She also became the first Rwandan contestant to represent the country at the Miss World pageant.

The allegations made by Bebe Cool have not been independently verified, and neither Ugandan nor Rwandan authorities had publicly commented on the matter by the time of publication.

As the dispute continues to unfold on social media, questions remain over whether any formal complaint has been lodged with law enforcement agencies and whether evidence supporting the allegations will be presented.
